The gnome not mount cd and dvd. Because ?

fstab

Code:

  GNU nano 2.2.5                    File: /etc/fstab

# /etc/fstab: static file system information.
#
# noatime turns off atimes for increased performance (atimes normally aren't
# needed); notail increases performance of ReiserFS (at the expense of storage
# efficiency).  It's safe to drop the noatime options if you want and to
# switch between notail / tail freely.
#
# The root filesystem should have a pass number of either 0 or 1.
# All other filesystems should have a pass number of 0 or greater than 1.
#
# See the manpage fstab(5) for more information.
#

# <fs>                  <mountpoint>    <type>          <opts>          <dump/pass>

# NOTE: If your BOOT partition is ReiserFS, add the notail option to opts.
/dev/sda1               /boot           ext2            defaults,noatime                1 2

Most likely due to the reason given above:
Quote:
Code:
/dev/cdrom              /mnt/cdrom      auto            noauto,user                     0 0

On unrelated note: fix the typo in package.accept_keywords; some of the packages dislike LANG=C.

hackum, try deleting the line Voidmage mentioned from your fstab. Gnome sometimes won't automount if there's an fstab entry for the device.

What line ?

This one in your /etc/fstab

Code:
/dev/cdrom              /mnt/cdrom      auto            noauto,user                     0 0

Although it should suffice to simply change it to a comment by putting a "#" as the first character like so:

Code:
# /dev/cdrom              /mnt/cdrom      auto            noauto,user                     0 0

As said before, most desktop environments (like KDE and Gnome) don't play well with this entry.

Apologies if I take a while to respond. I'm currently working on the dematerialization circuit for my blue box.
