Hi,

I recently experienced a problem using the search form (like typing the first letter of the search term) below "activities" the gnome-shell takes 100% cpu and renders the X environment mostly unusable. In this state it only helps to restart xdm or killing (-9) all gnome-shells (normal kill doesn't help, unluckily).

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I had a similar problem with a customised theme, meaning gnome-system-monitor used 100% CPU, problem solved by using the generic Adwaita theme.
