I run a Gentoo Lab at my school and want to force acroread to be the default application for all users for the pdf extension instead of evince. I thought there might be a way with gconf-editor but I haven't seen anything. It can't be hard, I just can't seem to find it.

The systems are running gnome 2.32.1.

Thanks!

Have you tried right clicking on any PDF file, choosing "Properties", then "Open With" tab and selecting acroread there?
If not present you could use "Add" button...

Or this is not the way? ;-)

That would work for one user, but I want to make it default for Gnome in general or in other words all users without requiring them to take those steps.
