|
|
I'm leaving a very similar problem to this thread forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-6870140.html
I'm unable can't launch VLC, and have wxwindows, X, qt4 USE flags enabled.
The poster in thread mentioned
"You need to run vlc as the same user that runs the X server.[1] You must not run the graphical login session as root.
[1] You can get around this, but it would be far safer to do things properly than to bypass yet another safety check."
But how do I go about doing this ?
ADD: These are the messages I get when running VLC on terminal.

What is your DISPLAY set to, on that terminal?
How did you open that terminal?
How did you start X11? Are you using GNOME? Using Consolekit?
Normally when you start the X server eventually the user that started it gets handed back control, something like this shouldn't happen... _________________ Intel Core i7 2700K/Radeon R7 250/24GB DDR3/256GB SSD
