Hi,

since SysCP is not further developed, I would like to know if any of you tried Froxlor (a fork) yet? Is it stable and working well with Gentoo?

The Froxlor web page lists Gentoo at the top of its list of "distributions supported". It's not in the main portage repository. I have seen a reference to it being in the prefix overlay, but I don't find it there upon searching.

Apparently someone has created an ebuild for it, though, which you can put in your own overlay (you might have to adapt the version):

So, I suppose you can just emerge it and find out for yourself.

They have a forum. Maybe you can find another Gentoo user there. You might also try posting in the "unsupported software" gentoo forum.

Hi,

thanks for your explanation. Are there any other low-profile alternatives, which work especially with Gentoo? Up till now I used CPves to just manage the mailserver, which worked so far, but this software hasn't been developed any further for almost 4 years now. I could live with just an solution managing postfix+courier+antispam, but its hard to find any good one supporting Gentoo. Any ideas?

I don't really know; I just use ssh and virtual terminals.

People seem to like Webmin, which provides a web-based server management interface with modules for various services (quite a lot, actually, including a number of mail servers).
