I'm in a terminal and each time I type this here below I get this error message:

Code:
# users-admin
Xlib:  extension "RANDR" missing on display ":1.0".

** (users-admin:6401): WARNING **: The connection is closed

To my very limited knowledge, it seems like this could be a problem with X11; something with randr extention. So just for kicks, I look at my Xorg.0.log and I see this. It seems to be loaded.
Code:
[   232.717] (II) Initializing built-in extension RANDR

What's going on.

ps: I'm currently connected remotely with tightvnc (ultravnc on client.)

I don't know what users-admin is (what package?) but I've seen many programs that emit an error about xrandr but tends to keep on going just fine.

The error looks like a dbus error to me, but anything can look like anything...

This is the "users & groups" in the admin panel in gnome. I saw it years ago in my gentoo when it was installed but now it wasn't there so I thought of installing it. Then I got this error message.

Not sure about why it's dying but the XRandR is targeted to the "display" you're using at the moment. Since you're running the application on VNC, VNC needs to support the XRandR protocol, which apparently it does not.
You'll have to try it on console X11 server with XRandR, or a version of VNC that supports XRandR.

The Dbus error might be slightly more of a clue about what's going on but still really no idea... is the full gnome environment running along with dbus? Consolekit and policykit as well?

I don't know what exactly but I did a emerge world update and after it completed, it's fixed. I guess it was a missing program or dependency.
