|
|
Hi,
I tried to install Gentoo with the minimal iso, in a PowerBook G4 12 1.5 Ghz with an USB device, the CD drive is Broken. Because I was successful to boot into Debian with this method, I just copy the iso image with Mac OS X without creating any partitions, only burnt the image into it. After I went through the open firmware, instead of a welcome boot prompt, yaboot said that it failed to load the components.
I tried again with an iso from a different mirror and checking the md5, but the same error appears.
Then, I find out this page: http://en.gentoo-wiki.com/wiki/LiveUSB_on_PPC
But I'm a beginner and I don't understand the part "Manually Installing ISO". From where shoud it done? A Mac OS X system or a Linux system? mac-fdisk is not found in my Arch Linux on PC.
Sorry for my terrible English and if is it a little bit confusing, that was the best I have done. |
