|
|
So I've followed the directions in the install guide and I can't get k3b or cdbakeoven to recognize my CD burner or DVD burner.
Using menuconfig, I've added SCSI support, SCSI CD-ROM support, and SCSI generic support into the kernel, and they don't recognize when I reboot. I've added them as modules and put them in the autoload file only to have two error messages (failed to load sg, failed to load sr_mod) come up on boot. I've added the hdx=ide-scsi line (where x is my burner) to my grub.conf.
Isn't adding them as modules in menuconfig supposed to make the automagically appear as modules during boot? I'm sure this is a really common question with an easy answer... I also think solving this question will also help me solve my USB mouse issue, where modules are supposed to be compiled but never are.
Thanks... |

Have you build and installed the modules after activating them in your kernel configuration? ( ... make modules modules_install ...) _________________ si hoc signum legere potes, operis boni in rebus lainis alacribus et fructuosis potiri potes! |

I hadn't... but I just did, and the "failed to load" error messages aren't there any more. But k3b and cdbakeoven still don't recognize any burners.
Maybe it's not correct in the grub.conf? I added the hdX=ide-scsi lines to the end, should I have put them somewhere else? |
