Hello,

i used kmail1 for many years but updated to kmail2 last year. I have many mails in my 10 imap accounts and because of that kmail2 was not really useable. Opening new mails needed >15-30 seconds and akonadi needs 100% cpu every x seconds for updating the folders.

So i downgraded to kmail1 and i'm still very happy with that.

But! Is there any update since then? Is kmail2 now useable with many mails? Or ist akonadi still the problem and i need to wait some years for faster computers?

Thanks

I really love the features and functions of kmail.
I tested it about 10 times during the last 5 years.

It trashed or duplicated my mails every time I used it after some days or weeks.

If kmail is considered as stable, I'd like give it another shout too...

It's definitely improving. With 4.8 I haven't had much trouble so far, but I would wait for the final release.

I cannot post a comment on dilfridge blog, so I leave my 2¢ here.

- migration from KMail-1 to Kmail2 was a pain.
- every day he try to download many old e-mail.
And deletion of duplicated e-mail makes KMail2 not very trustworthy.
- Maybe the culprit is akonadi, but KMail2 is slower than previous.

About the developer perspective: it's all fun until the whole application become a bunch of bugs.
Then no one will use it.
End of fun.
Start to destroy another working application with *fabolous* new features.

Thanks and sorry for bother you ;-)
