I'm trying to install gentoo on my mbp 8,1.
I can't boot from the CD because the cd driver isn't loaded on the live cd.
Now I'm trying to install from USB. I tried the live usb guide method, a straight dd copy, and unetbootin as well. Each time I get a "Missing Operating System" error when booting from rEFIt.
Anyone get this done yet or know what's going wrong? |

This error message says us that the computer can't find an operation system anywhere. It may be if you forget change the option in BIOS for boot from USB and else in a hard drive is not found operation system too. |

It's a mac, there's no bios. As I said in the OP, I'm using rEFIt to boot from the usb drive. I know booting from usb works, because I can get ubuntu based distros to boot and install just fine. |
