Sometimes there appears some noise near text in my system. This is reproduced when switching windows or scrolling text inside a window. I have two almost similar gentoo systems on different computers, both with XFCE 4, the problem occurs only in one of them. Both have Intel video adapters (82Q35 Express Integrated Graphics Controller on the crashed one). This noise appeared approximately 6 months ago. Recompilation of xorg-server, xorg-drivers and linux kernel did nothing.

I would guess that he's using x11-drivers/xf86-video-intel-2.15.0-r1.

OP: you might want to try the ~amd64 intel drivers or even the git version from the ::x11 repository. Bugfixes tend to happen more often than stable releases.
