Custom commands in IRC from Icecast?

I'm a member of a music site with a radio station. The site's admins run an IRC channel, for which they have written custom commands such as !radio, which displays the radio's currently playing information.

I'd like to do this for my own radio station, for which I have an IRC channel. My question is, how is this done? I use Icecast and Liquidsoap.

Typically this is done with a 'bot. The 'bot joins the IRC channel like any other user and responds to text posted to the channel. Let me Google that for you. :wink:
