How do I switch desktops with mouse gestures? I can't figure this out. I know how to make a gesture I just don't know how to make one for switching desktops. Is there a command/url action I can use?

Also, is there a way to limit the gesture to a certain part of the screen? That is if I preform a gesture in the upper right hand corner of the screen, it executes an action. However, if I preform that same gesture in the lower right hand corner, it executes a different action.

Thanks!

Afaik, there's no such thing as a generic or universal mouse gestures “module” to switch desktop on any DE that I'm aware of. Don't imagine you just ask something as general as you're asking and get a magic/universal answer! That said, if you link your question to a particular DE, maybe you'll get something, but even that I'm not sure. Simply, some DE do not have such “module” to begin with.

Bob Leny

Do you mean changing to one of the four that KDE gives you or something else??

If it is the ones that KDE gives you the choice of then on your desktop just use the scroll wheel. It will move you from desktop to desktop.

Hope that this is what your talking about.

I'm sorry, I must not have been very clear.

I have 3 desktops set up. I can switch between them using the keyboard commands Ctrl+F1 through Ctrl+F3. So I already have the desktops set up, I just want to be able to use the mouse gestures to switch between the desktops a lot like using the mouse wheel to scroll through them.

Is that more clear?

No, you should tell us what DE/WM you are using.
