Hello,

I have a computer running Windows 7 and another running Gentoo. I have CIFS support compiled into the kernel and net-fs/mount-cifs installed on my Gentoo computer. I have no problem mounting a Windows share from the command line after Gentoo has completely booted. I'm running into issues when I try to have it mounted at boot via the /etc/fstab file. There was another thread on the forum from 2005 about the same issue, but the solution would not work for me because it was from before Gentoo switched to OpenRC. I'm not sure what information is needed, but if you let me know and let me know how to get it, I'll be more than happy to provide it. I'm using NetworkManager for my networking.

Edit:

I was able to get around this by using autofs to mount the share when it's accessed.
