Hi!

I'm having trouble getting skype to work with uim. It doesn't accept input at all... Is this a known issue? I will post my current skype version as well as my .xinitrc file which I have my UIM variables defined in:

skype version: net-im/skype-2.2.0.35-r1

.xinitrc:
Code:
exec openbox-session
export GTK_IM_MODULE='uim'
export QT_IM_MODULE='uim'
uim-xim &
export XMODIFIERS=@im='uim'

The output of equery uses =skype-2.2.0.35-r1 is as follows:
Code:
[ Legend : U - final flag setting for installation]
[        : I - package is installed with flag     ]
[ Colors : set, unset                             ]
 * Found these USE flags for net-im/skype-2.2.0.35-r1:
 U I
 - - qt-static : Installs binaries statically linked to Qt

Not 100% sure what's wrong.

Thanks in advance,

It seems input methods are a bit sensitive to these settings. Have you tried executing your window manager after setting the variables and running uim-xim in your .xinitrc file?
