Hi.

I'm having proplems with rxvt-unicode: while typing, or through command completion, or by repeating an older command through cursor keys, the actual content is not or only partially redrawn, it is either black or simply filled white boxes (from my boxed cursor).

I found this https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=346553 and this http://awesome.naquadah.org/wiki/Urxvt_Hints, and recompiled rxvt-unicode with the "force-hints" USE flag, but the problem remains.

Here's my USE flags:
Code:
Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild   R    ] x11-terms/rxvt-unicode-9.12-r1  USE="256-color blink focused-urgency font-styles force-hints iso14755 mousewheel perl pixbuf truetype -afterimage -alt-font-width -fading-colors -unicode3 -vanilla -wcwidth" 0 kB

Anyone knows how to fix that?

Thanks

gw

I know this is not really a fix, but I don't see the point of hunting down the actual problem, when there is an easy alternative.

I ditched urxvt altogether, as neither xfterm4 nor gnome-terminal have said problem. xfterm4 doesn't display utf8 encoded text properly, but gnome-terminal does!

So for all those who had the same problem with rxvt-unicode, I recommend to simply switch to gnome-terminal.
