Do you have
Quote:
LANG=zh_CN.UTF-8

in your /etc/env.d/02locale?
Then run
Code:
env-update && source /etc/profile

or relogin.

of course ,i do this。according to The Official Guide of Gentoo 。but it still go wrong,i have try many times。My main operation steps is :

1.when i add LINGUAS="zh_CN zh" in ect/make.conf file.
2.I set up the documents, the locale 02locale /etc/env.d/folder,add LANG=zh_CN.UTF-8
3. I changed the file of /etc/locale.gen ,as follows;
en_US ISO-8859-1
en_US.UTF-8 UTF-8
zh_CN GB18030
zh_CN.GBK GBK
zh_CN.GB2312 GB2312
zh_CN.UTF-8 UTF-8
4.locale-gen
5.env-update && source /etc/profile
6.reinstall xorg-server and KDE
7.restart system

after restart i can see the FrmLogin changed into chinese,i think it really work to system after join 021ocale ,however i can not enter into
KDE,except delete the 02locale ,I don't know which step I have missed?

Did you emerge kde with the "nls" flag enabled?
Code:
emerge -pv kde-base/kde-l10n

You can also try to start kde without a DM:
- remove xdm from default runlevel, "rc-update del xdm default"
- restart and login
- run "locale" to see if your language is set
- add "exec ck-launch-session dbus-launch startkde" in ~/.xinitrc
- run "startx"
- check the tty you login from for errors/warning
