first of all, never understood users which try and mix different distros and complain when it doesn't work.

second, dude! your comp is seriously outdated.

now for your problem, the two issues are thunar and hal,

first unmerge thunar and re emerge it after the upgrade.

second, either remove sabayon overlay or unmerge exo, halevt, hal-info (former two doesn't even exists in protage) and upgrade handbrake

OK. I did what you suggest. And it works, almost. After 3 day of compiling, I'm stuck with gst-plugins-ffmpeg: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-892656-highlight-.html

generally solved, update almost done, just 500+ packages compiled, 250+ config files to update... few problems with compilation, but generally went it really smoother than I expected. Thx Gentoo ;)
