I'm trying to set up an IPSEC/L2TP VPN. The important bits are working, but there are certain aspects I don't quite understand yet.

Dynamic clients get DNS and routing information from DHCP. As x/l2tpd hands out IPs from a pool, there is no DHCP as such, and how do clients get that information here? pppd has an ms-dns option, does that work with non-Windows clients?

I remember when I moved from Cisco's VPN client to vpnc, I needed to wrap it into a script that added all the internal routes I needed (LAN-side of the server), but this is something I cannot do here. No control over the clients. Could this be handled with NATing on the gateway? What about multiple concurrent clients?
