Download a suitable sys-devel/gcc tarball from http://tinderbox.dev.gentoo.org/ (hardened or default and so on), place it in PKGDIR (portageq envvar PKGDIR if you are unsure where that is), emerge -K sys-devel/gcc, then emerge sys-devel/gcc to build it with your chosen settings.

Hi.
When I try emerge –K sys-devel/gcc and emerge sys-devel/gcc I have this statement:

Quote:
Checking whether the C compiler works ..no
Configure: error: in ‘/var/tmp/portage/dev-libs/mpc-0.9/work/mpc-0.9’:
Confiugure: error: C compiler cannot create executables
See ‘config.log’ for more details

This is not all, but I must write on different computer and this is very hard for me. My browser doesn’t work fine and I’am tired. Should I reinstall system? Is there some hope for me?:)

There is hope, but we'll need to see the config.log. It should be in /var/tmp/portage/dev-libs/mpc-0.9/work/config.log if I'm not mistaken.
