Been listening to this for last days. Amazing, not less. Almost went to his concert yesterday, but it was sold out and there was not ticket sale at the venue.

Wow. Points for everyone playing the one guitar, but the woman's vocals sound like she's deaf or something. That song requires "excellent" vocals, so for me it doesn't work.

We're pretty much on the same page, I thought that the guitar being played by 5 people was fun, but I thought the middle guy's voice was strained.

@ Koala Kid...Awesome!

Not bad. I'm intrigued enough to check out more. Thanks.

Fields of the Nephilim - Last exit for the lost

Only discovered this band quite recently. They're a bit like the Sisters of Mercy for people who like it a bit darker. They DO sound similar. Still like the Nephilim much better.

Here are some tracks
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8NMayki4Uc&feature=list_related&playnext=1&list=AL94UKMTqg-9BNsAnve2589LpAgPGZnuH2

Mourning Song and Last exit for the lost are my favourite tracks so far. Last exit takes some time until it really gets going.

I think this cover is better than the original.

Have you ever wondered what track the weird dude is listening to in his car in Linkeroever?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WfufrJcLwWs#t=01m00s

It could also pass as a Trans Europa Express remix, btw.

Miles might just be the absolute best at creating Jazz in the style I dislike most :D

I had it playing in the background for a while, just to see if it could grow on me. I just closed the tab after a "make it stop" moment. The "best" part is genuine. He does seem to put in a groove that is better than most.

A lot of his stuff is jazz in a sense that he was reinventing everything in 70s, academically awesome, but nothing I'd listen to. No groove or sense, everything is disconnected. I guess that in itself was achievment, but so is swallowing razor blades. Why would you want to do that?

Florence + The Machine - No Light, No Light

Quite possibly my favorite new (to me) discovery.

Clockwork Angels ~ Rush

On repeat. This is a great rock album. Geddy's vocals are showing his age, but if you focus on the guitar/bass/drums... this is a brilliant album.

Well worth the $13 I paid at Target. For this level of playing, I'd easily pay $30.

Cool, thanks. I hadn't checked for release updates in a while. I'll have to get it when I go out for lunch.

How do you like it compared to say, Test for Echo, Vapor Trails, and/or Snakes & Arrows?

EDIT:

Made it through 3 tracks on the way home.

It took me a while to warm up to Counterparts, but once I did, I now like most of it quite a bit. Unfortunately that hasn't happened since Test for Echo. I'm hopeful about Clockwork, but based on recent history, I'm still skeptical.

Oh, and I didn't perceive any vocal issues.

Stupid companies. Found a different link. I like a lot of Gabrierl's work. Pretty compelling musician.

EDIT:

Good, but don't know how often I'd listen to it. Soundtrack seems the best way to describe it.

Phil Collins - Going Back (Official Video 2010)

From his Motown covers album of the same name. Also, somewhat interesting is the 6 part (short) "behind the scenes." Part 1 of 6: Origins. Unfortunate that it seems he is unable to continue.
