|

Hello,
I am testing the new linux-3.9-rc2 kernel. With this new kernel module autoloading for filesystems does not work. I have cifs compiled as a module. Now when I want to mount a cifs filesystem I get the following error:
Code: | mount error: cifs filesystem not supported by the system
mount error(19): No such device
Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs) |
This is the same with all the other filesystems I have compiled as a module. I can manually modprobe them and all works as expected. With the gentoo stable kernels this was not needed. Now I want to know why this is the case. How can I debug this problem? If this is the kernels fault I want to submit a good bugreport.
Greetings
morpheus
P.S.: I am using gentoo amd64 stable mostly. My package.keywords is rather short.

This seems to be solved by switching to -rc3. |
