Gotta post the actual error message. All you've posted is Portage saying that there was an error. Scroll further back 'til you see the actual error and post that, please.

Notice that the messages you got included Code: | The complete build log is located at '/var/tmp/portage/x11-terms/terminal-0.4.8/temp/build.log'. | If you emerge wgetpaste, you can easily post the entire build log on the web so that we can help you. After emerging wgetpaste, you can just run Code: | wgetpaste /var/tmp/portage/x11-terms/terminal-0.4.8/temp/build.log | and it will return you a little URL that you can post here.
You can also just view that build log and look through it to see what the actual error was.

Does wgetpaste submit to a pastebin that holds the contents of the paste forever?
If not, recommending that to people is going to be a disaster in the long run. I don't know how many times I've hit a snag, and searched the forums, only to find a single other person who had this same obscure error 4 years ago. If they'd all used a temporary pastebin, it'd be impossible to do this. _________________ My Wiki page |

Quote: | Code: | You must have XML::Parser installed to run /usr/bin/intltool-merge

Somehow dev-perl/XML-Parser has become broken on your system. Start by running perl-cleaner --all to get your system into a sane state - you probably didn't bother to run this when emerge told you you needed to do so. |

mattst88 wrote: | Does wgetpaste submit to a pastebin that holds the contents of the paste forever? | I hear you and I even agree. In my defense, this is often the easiest way to get neophytes to post what's significant. To address your legitimate concern, I'll promise to post the relevant portion of the pastebin directly to the forum from now on.
