Hello everyone, i wanted to install the kde 4.7 rc, i added kde overlay, then i linked /var/lib/layman/kde/Documentation/package.keywords/kde-4.7.keywords to /etc/portage/package.keywords and /var/lib/layman/kde/Documentation/package.unmask/kde-4.7 and all was fine (i had to unmask dev-libs/soprano-9999 ** also) and everything was updating just fine but after "layman --sync kde" it now tries to update to 4.7.49.9999 and not to 4.6.90 anymore? I'd love to see the previous behaviour as i am now in an unstable state (trying to downgrade to stable 4.6.4) but i'd still love to update to 4.6.90. Anyone got any idea why is it that it tries to install 4.7.49.9999 ?

Seems that some changes in the overlay forced this change. A short talk on irc with the maintainer fixed it.

Linking those files into /etc/portage/ probably isn't the right way to do it - I think you're supposed to merge those changes in yourself (or copy the files in if you don't have any of your own settings in there yet). If you've linked the files in, then your changes to the files to accommodate other programs in the future will be changing the files layman has set up... probably not what you want.

Thank you for answer. The problem was caused by the maintainer. It has been fixed since.
