Hi folks.
I am running Gentoo( 2.6.38-gentoo-r6). Recently I have installed aMule (2.2.6) using
Code:

USE="upnp" emerge amule

After installation, I click the aMule item in 'Applications->Internet->aMule', and aMule's GUI shows up. Then I click the close button, a dialog saying 'Really to exit aMule?' pops up, and I click Yes, so the GUI window is closed. However, when I click the aMule item again, no GUI window shows up again. I am quite sure when I close the GUI window, no amule process is running. Then I kill the the amule process(the one whose GUI was not displayed), type amule in terminal, getting:
Code:

Initialising aMule 2.2.6 using wxGTK2 v2.8.11
Checking if there is an instance already running...
No other instance are running.
ListenSocket: OK
HTTP download thread started

It sticks there, no GUI shows up never. I type ps aux | grep amule, the result is:
Code:

jfhu     13396  0.7  3.3  94716 29860 ?        Sl   13:07   0:00 amule
jfhu     13415  0.0  0.0   5800   748 pts/0    S+   13:08   0:00 grep --colour=auto amule

It's so weird. No tasks are downloading in the aMule. And I try to reinstall amule, the problem is there still. Hope make myself clear.
Something more:
I use the gdb to gain some backtraces
Code:

jfhu@localhost ~ $ gdb /usr/bin/amule

Hope some guys knowing the backtraces can help me out.
Any ideas will be appreciated? Thanks in advance.

sounds to me same as the old well known wxgtk problem with Version 2.1.x ......
No idea if - Oldfrog - is still developing aMule... that days he was the one who fixed it......
But, to be honest..... are you sure what you are doing there?? Donkey P2P Network???? There are still other (better) ways.....
have a look at - Jdownloader - ok.. .its Java..... but works and NO open outgoing pipe that could be traced back ;)

Thanks. Yes, I just need the amule to download the resources from verycd. Is there anything such as posts or bug reports that are about the problem relating with wxGTK 2.1.x? Could you please give me the url or guide me some materials? :D

Oldfrog is well known there ;)
To be honest, when u realy need such an "app"...... isnt it a better idea to set up a Virtualbox or Vm-Ware and let it run inside this closed einviroment??? think about, ruining your system sucks when you have no daily image of your drive ;)
