Error merging mplayer

I tried to emerge mplayer, it showed 4 ebuilds to be installed with the "--pretend" argument provided. Then i started the actual merge and it showed me the following error message, after it had already installed all the other components:

!!! File is corrupt or incomplete. (Digests do not match)

Then i did:

bash-2.05b# emerge -p mplayer

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating dependencies ...done!
[ebuild N ] media-video/mplayer-0.91


However, "emerge mplayer" always results in the same error message. Why is it unable to merge mplayer?? And what does the error message mean?

Any suggestions?
