I built a Gentoo Desktop VM under VirtualBox. I got to boot it, and it freezes. I'll happily provide any extra information you guys want, but I don't really know where to start with this. Other distros boot just fine.

add udev to sysinit runlevel
and
do this https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-880149.html
and/or edit kernel config to add:
| Quote: | -> Device Drivers
-> Generic Driver Options
[*] Maintain a devtmpfs filesystem to mount at /dev
[*] Automount devtmpfs at /dev, after the kernel mounted the rootfs (NEW) | recompile, recopy kernel
in disarray after stabilizing openrc and baselayout2, your symptom is similar but not identical to other boot process hang ups
http://dev.gentoo.org/~a3li/openrc.txt also refers _________________ Defund the FCC. |
