Hi

I have installed gentoo (2.6.37-gentoo-r4) without HAL.
(I explicitly have '-hal' in my make.conf)
Everything is working fine, but during boot,
right after the message
Code:
INIT Entering runlevel: 3

i get a warning
Code:
WARNING: /etc/init.d/hald missing; skipping...

The nex message is about syslog-ng starting.

In '/var/log/messages' this warning does not show up.

Does anybody know who wants to have HAL at this point of time,
and how i can make this message go away?

Thank You

Here's my make.conf
Code:
# These settings were set by the catalyst build script that automatically
CFLAGS="-march=native -O2 -pipe"
CXXFLAGS="${CFLAGS}"

Did you run
Code:
rc-update del hald
before rebooting ?
It looks like the runlevel still contains a symbolic link to the hald init.d script which has disappeared.

Thanks, javaree.

There was indeed a broken reference to hald which was shown by 'rc-update -s'.
And after removing the hald script, the warning is gone.

Thank You!
