I don't know when was the last time I used this, so I have no idea when did it break.

Some things worth noting:

  • 'pm-suspend' works, so it's a kde issue, for sure.
  • 'echo -n mem > /sys/power/state' works as well.
  • choosing suspend or hibernate does not make a difference.
  • using the menu option or the shutdown dialog option makes no difference.
  • acpid is not running, but running it and restarting doesn't make a difference.
  • kdm is not running (using qingy) but starting it and login-in again makes no difference.
  • upower and udev USE flags are in place since prehistoric times, as is policykit, and also consolekit, so that's not it either.

Any ideas or is this just another KDE bug (TM)?

Hi i92guboj,

could be this reason.

Much success, Andy.

I would like to see more detail on what the problem is. That is saying "Suspend doesn't work" covers a lot of ground...
For example, I too could say that "suspend (hibernate) doesn't work", although in my case both suspend and hibernate work perfectly, it is resume where I have problems.

What kernel sources/version are you using?
Desktop or laptop?
Does the problem occur during suspend/hibernate or during resume?
Can you provide some kind of description of what you see?
Do you use Nouveau? (I ask because my resume problem seems to be with Nouveau)
Is there any information captured on /var/log/messages? Can you post the relevant portion of the log?
