FATAL: module fbcon not found[SOLVED]

Hi all. I'm just installed Xorg, and now, when I typed startx, got this message

Code: Select all

FATAL: module fbcon not found
As I see, this error can spring in many different cases, therefore: put in here a file /var/log/Xorg.0.log
Anybody knows, what a matter?

P.S.
Yeah, there one more strange thing -- if I enter "emerge xf86-video-intel", then get this message:
Calculating dependencies . ... done!
[ebuild UD] x11-libs/libXfixes-4.0.5 [5.0] USE="-static-libs" 0 kB
[ebuild R ] x11-drivers/xf86-video-intel-2.14.0 USE="dri" 0 kB

Total: 2 packages (1 downgrade, 1 reinstall), Size of downloads: 0 kB

Would you like to merge these packages? [Yes/No]
Quitting.
??? Why downgrade? I didn't yet anything with it.

just a guest,

Code: Select all

[ 51.313] (EE) Failed to load module "fbdev" (module does not exist, 0) is harmless.
Xorg is trying all the open source drivers, of which that is one. It finds

Code: Select all

[ 51.314] (II) intel: Driver for Intel Integrated Graphics Chipsets: i810, ...
whichis good if you have an intel chipset. You do ans Xorg set up

Code: Select all

[ 52.067] (II) intel(0): Output LVDS1 using initial mode 1280x800
All in all Xorg started normally. I guess you don't have a window manager installed yet, so Xorg found nothing to do and quit.

For testing

Code: Select all

emerge -1 xterm twm xclock
Now what happens when you startx ?

Isn't Xorg a window manager?

just a guest,

Xorg is the software that draws the screen. The Window Manager tells Xorg what to draw where to make windows, window decorations, buttons and all the other things you see in a windowing environment.

You can run a GUI program straight on top of Xorg without a Window Manager. Then the program uses full screen, no windows, no decorations. Indeed some single application consoles work this way.

twm is a window manager, xterm and xclock are simple applications to give twm something to do.
