I'm thinking of making a change to my new Gentoo system to help share data between Gentoo and Windows ME. I'd like to get your advice and input.

My current config:

Dell Dimension 8100, the hard drive is in an InClose drive sled, so I swap out the Windows ME drive sled and slide in the one with Gentoo. No messing with dual boot.

I have an old Adaptec 2920 and SCSI drive I was going to plug in as an internal drive.

1) Are there any tricks or issues I should watch out for using this controller and SCSI in Gentoo?

2) How should I format and use this drive so that it can be used to read and write files both when I have Gentoo booted and when I have Windows ME booted?

Thank you!
