I would like to install latest stable version of KDE (4.4) on my server, but with no sound and as little multimedia support as possible (no sound players, movie players, no codecs support, no video/picture editing programs, etc).
Maybe there is a way to install KDE with a "minimal" configuration? Currently I have installed kde-meta with all dependencies.
How do I do that? My guess is that I should do the following:
- disable ALSA and any sound-card related drivers from kernel and recompile the kernel
- enable/disable some keywords in "make.conf"? (which ones?!)
I would really appreciate your help.
thanks in advance!
P.S. I already have a duplicate topic in "Multimedia" section. I am not sure which one should be kept.. mods please close one of them at your choice.
