hello everyone!

If I get the code/cmd
Code:
 convert -delay 4 out*.gif anim.gif

how to know which package should I install/emerge for running this cmd ?

Not only for
Code:
 convert
but also for all of these questions.
Maybe there is a good tool for it but I a green hand have no idea.

thx. :)

Well, it's hard to imagine how you could get information about a command if the package providing it is not installed. :?
However, in case it is installed, it's easy:
Code:
equery b convert
 * Searching for convert ...
media-gfx/imagemagick-6.8.8.2 (/usr/bin/convert)

If the command file is not installed, I think Portage File List would be of help (with thanks to dol-sen). It also has a Search Online function, but I suppose it would be courteous to install app-portage/pfl in order to help other Gentoo users at the same time.

thank you. equery is a good tool.
But sometimes I really need to know program 'bb' is in which package that have not installed. :o
