I am trying to install gimp with paludis. There is no candidate for virtual/poppler-glib.

Cave cannot find any candidate for virtual/poppler-glib even when I search for it. (and since I have the unavailable setup installed that can also search repositories I haven't installed and turned up nada) I have reached the conclusion that I need help in finding virtual/poppler-glib, so that I can use the gimp again. :)

Is there some switch that I need to set somewhere to have that virtual package built or what?

What version of gimp are you trying to install? No version of the in-tree gimp ebuild requires the poppler-glib virtual, nor does that virtual appear to exist in the tree.

I think your best bet might be to send an email to dev-zero, then. He's not very active on the forums. You can find his email address on his overlay landing page.

Thanks. I was thinking about just masking that out and going from there. :)

I'll try both.

Thanks again, John.

Yep. I was assuming that that was the version you wanted. For your information, 2.6.11-r1 has installed flawlessly on half a dozen of my machines.

Actually, I had installed dev-zero for something else, and wasn't even thinking about gimp until now. I did email dev-zero's maintainer about it, but will mask it for now and install the other version. :)

In order to solve this as root I issued the command:
Code:
echo "media-gfx/gimp::dev-zero" >> /etc/paludis/package_mask.conf"

and then tried the reinstall. It didn't die out on the pretend like it did before, so I'm marking this as solved, and then going to reinstall, but I don't think that there will be any other issues.
