|
|
Hi,
I've been using xbindkeys for a while now to map some multimedia keys on my keyboard to a script. This has been working fine for a very long time, but recently xbindkeys started crashing and I can't get it to work properly anymore.
This is my .xbindkeysrc:
Code: | "toggle.music.sh"
XF86AudioPlay |
This is what happens when I run 'xbindkeys -n':
Code: | rob@desktop ~ $ xbindkeys -n
Red Hot Chili Peppers - So Much I
[playing] #502/673 3:31/3:45 (93%)
volume: 49% repeat: on random: on single: off consume: off

First press of the button XF86AudioPlay works, second press produces this crash. I have re-emerged all packages that seemed relevant to me like libX11, glibc, libXau, libXdmcp, xbindkeys. Without success.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? Or debug it further?
Thank you! |

I have the same problem. xbindkeys 1.7.3, 1.8.0 and 1.8.3 all have the same problem. However, if I revert to libX11-1.3.6 (I was running the new 1.4.0), the problem goes away.
Happy to post debugging info, if anyone wants to give the commands. |

Yes, that was exactly it, thank you. I had been meaning to follow up on this but hadn't gotten around to it.
The problem was I upgraded to mesa-7.9 which pulled in libX11-1.3.99.903. Reverting to libX11-1.3.6 fixed this. |

I can verify that 1.8.4 works correctly with libX11-1.4.0 |
