Dear gentoo community

i have been searching google with no result. although i wouldn't be surprise my problem has to do with a wrong setup because i seem to be the only one having a problem.. maybe you could shine some light

when NM applet ask me to connect "authentication required by wireless network" dialog box
and i click connect i get this:

(nm-applet:23395): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_list_store_get_value: assertion `VALID_ITER (iter, list_store)' failed

i found this elsewhere although posts where old with no solutions.

i can repeat systematically, as soon as this dialog box pops up
i am guessing i have wrongly installed some keyring things here?
i get a few warnings too from glib-object from the same nm-applet line

i am using Networkmanager 8.2 but it did it also with 8.1
gtk+ is 2.22

i unmasked gnome 2.32 hoping the bug would resolve with an update

any idea where to look?

many thanks in advance!

I don't know the answer but did try the following after updating?
  • revdep-rebuild
  • emerge -DuN world
  • emerge -D gtk
  • emerge -D gnome
I listed these in the order I would try them.

Also I my package versions are:
  • x11-libs/gtk+-2.20.1-r1
  • net-misc/networkmanager-0.8.2
  • gnome-extra/nm-applet-0.8
  • gnome-base/gnome-2.30.2
and nm-applet works fine for me.

Hi! and thanks for the tip
i did had a few packages to update with new use flag
but that didn't do it

i was thinking maybe it could have to do with a wrong setting in the user configuration
so created a fresh new user,
but same thing happend there

Any other suggestion appreciated

Thanks
