Before going to sleep, I did launch

emerge tetex xemacs acroread realplayer

When I woke up this morning, a message telling me I would have to manually install realplayer was waiting me, but the rest of the job was done...

Except that a depedency is not realized for tetex (ghostscript is not yet installed, but is of course necessary, but of course I just have to add it... I suppose the dependancies are there just for the building process...)

But as concerns xemacs, I can't launch it, it just answers with a segmentation fault...

Acroread has been properly installed and it works.

Where could I look to see if something went wrong during the installation ?

Have had exactly the same experience (segmentation fault) with the xemacs package and have posted a bug report. Merging the older (stable) version 21.1.14 makes no difference at all.

I didn't post a bug report for my part because it seems a known bug, although it manifests differently among users. (For some, xemacs doesn't segfaults when emerge is running... For my part, it did segfaults always...)

I now have a working xemacs, and got it through the following command :

SANDBOX_DISABLED="1" emerge xemacs

It's a quite dirty workaround, but that's better than nothing...
