I have an app that I've developed on Gentoo based on a rendering engine and requires a few libraries that Gentoo and most other distros don't have packages for. It's a closed source app.
I'm wondering how to best distribute this app for other Linux systems that will be non-Gentoo (probably all)?
It requires several package installations as well as OpenGL. The latter I'm expecting the users to have installed, but the libraries as well as my app need to be installed in some way that requires a bit of pre-config and right now, my only idea is to place the app and the libs in a docker container. I've looked at snap and flatpak, but docker seems to be hands down the best way to go.
I was curious to know if other people are doing things differently and what or how to best package libs and the app for distribution. |
