|
|
I have a Dell laptop with an ATI mobility radeon HD 4330 graphics card. I followed the the Xorg server configuration guide exactly for the Radeon HD 4000 series, but the kernel failed to compile with the message:
Code: |
make[1]: *** No rule to make target 'firmware/radeon/R600_rlc.bin', needed by 'firmware/radeon/R600_rlc.bin.gen.o'. Stop.
make: *** [firmware] Error 2
|
I double checked that I'd selected the right options but couldn't find any mistakes. I've reread the guide several times and searched the forums, but I still can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks. |

Did you emerge "radeon-ucode"?
If not, do so and try again, and if so, can you post the output of `grep CONFIG_EXTRA_FIRMWARE_DIR /usr/src/linux/.config`? _________________ "You have to invite me in" |

Thanks for responding.
I did emerge "radeon-ucode". The output of 'grep CONFIG_EXTRA_FIRMWARE_DIR /usr/src/linux/.config' is
Code: | CONFIG_EXTRA_FIRMWARE_DIR="firmware"
