|
|
Hi,
I'm an Austrian sysadmin living in South France, currently fiddling with Gentoo. I have two spare sandbox machines here in my office (overlooking the beautiful South french countryside), loads of time to RTFM and play around. My feeling so far: Gentoo is easy because it's 1) transparent and 2) extremely (!) well documented. Only thing coming near the FreeBSD documentation. But first things first.
When I select a profile like this:
Code: | # eselect profile set 6 |
Which gives me:
Code: | # eselect profile show
Current make.profile symlink:
default/linux/x86/10.0/server |
... is there a way to see the currently used USE flags in this profile? Since I'm quite new to Gentoo (although I've been using it for a few months back in 2002, but that doesn't count), I thought I'd rather use some "canned" USE flag sets before checking them all out. Let's say I change my profile to "kde" or "gnome", how (e. g. where) can I see the changes in USE flags?
Cheers from the sunny South of France. _________________ Dyslexics have more fnu. |

should show you the USE flags your system is currently using., amongst a load of other useful stuff. Enjoy Gentoo _________________ # "Hmm, sounds like your system froze up."
