|
|
I searched 'Rsound' but found none so...
I just installed Pulseaudio. It kind of works. But what I really need it to be able only to stream sound to my server that's on the same rack as my audio equipment.
Only 1% or 2% of Pulseaudio's features are really needed by me and ever fever by "normal desktop users".
I'd like to know if anyone of you have tested or are using this Rsound and what you think of it.
Basically ideal solution would be capturing the audio device (/dev/audio) and send it to another machine. And if possible: compress it (flac?). _________________ ..: Zucca :..

Personally I use nas (Network Audio System) but applications have to offer a special option to send the stream through the network.
mplayer have a nas option which work well but for some movies I receive a Warning : "nas server is too slow"
I would also appreciate if someone who use Rsound can give some opinion of it... |

I've been considering NAS too. :) Thanks for your feedback.
I just wish there was a alsa plugin to handle network audio. It would be K.I.S.S.. _________________ ..: Zucca :..

Maybe it should be good to add it in sunrise ??
(I think it's better to have 1 overlay for all "user ebuild" like AUR in archlinux)
Thanks by the way |

Hmmm....
I see no reasons why not to add it into pro-audio. I think the app complies with overlay quite enough. |

Yes but it should be good to add it in sunrise too. Personally I prefer to use ebuilds from Sunrise rather than from another overlay since their are maintained by user but reviewed by Gentoo developers. |
