|
|
Hello All,
I thinks the title says it all, almost.
Gentoo x64 is up to date with ati-drivers.
Mozilla is untweaked, no plugins installed.
And I have black rectangles partially masking the display when browsing. They generally display from left to right but not always. Sometimes in the middle of the screen rather.
Is there any clue to this annoying issue ?
Thanks for your attention.

I think it is the same issue I experience as well, except the rectangles show up around window frames as well.
The following link might help: Black/grey/white boxes/artifacts mainly in firefox/thunderbird
As it is stated, the bug appears since ati-drivers-10.6, and can be disabled by running Code: | aticonfig --set-pcs-str=DDX,ForceXAA,TRUE
| and X server restart. In my case, however, compositing is much slower with older acceleration method. |

ThksDSHugo,
Although I'd rather not rely configuration stuff on automatic tools such as ati-config, I must admit it did the trick !.
Indeed, I prefer the old manual file editing method, as it automatically shows fallback procedure.
Actually it also boosted mycommand as well. According to console and log outputs many of the remaining warnings have
vanished. I may not be related though, since I also emerged a application for LXDE.
Myoutputs seems unchanged.
Thanks again for your attention, interest and support. |
