KDE - Can't Drag files on Desktop

I'm running a new KDE 4.4 on my system..
Everything works fine except for one feature.

I can't drag files on my desktop + all files in my folder "Desktop" don't show up on the desktop.

Any ideas whats wrong?
Or is this the default behaviour of KDE.
Previously I used Gnome.

Hi,

you're right: this is the default behavior. To show files on your desktop you could either add a "Folder View" widget to your desktop and configure this to display your desktop folder's contents or you could change the activity for your desktop to "Folder View".
