Hi guys,
just finished emerging kdebase-meta:4.4.
As far as I understand, I now have everything to start a kde session or is there anything left to install or do I have to install all the other packages listed by emerge -s kdebase?

If so, how do I start the kde session from command line the right way.

THX

I'm still not really confident on all of these issues.

By executing "startkde" but I havent done this often myself.

You can also replace xdm with kdm on your /etc/conf.d/xdm file and then start kdm via "/etc/init.d/xdm start".

Or if you already have a desktop manager like gdm installed you can select kde from its session menu.

PS: Yes kdebase-meta is enough. In includes everything necessary to start kde.
