Black Screen on Kernel Upgrade

Hi everyone, I've recently upgraded to .35 kernel, and it boots with a black screen. I have vesafb and nvidiafb compiled.
With video=vesafb, I get a garbled screen instead of a blank screen.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Just a suggestion - perhaps your video-driver (in my case nvidia-drivers) needs to be re-emerged. With every new kernel, the needed modules have to be rebuilt for the new kernel.

Edit: my fault - do you use any window manager? Or does the black screen appear after your bootmanager?
