Gentoo ~amd64 3 years here.
Portage install mysql-workbench fine. The programs starts fine. When adding a connection the test is fine. But when I try to connect i just get a window telling, for any user/host:
| Quote: | Cannot Connect to Database Server
Your connection attempt failed for user 'root' from your host to server at 127.0.0.1:3306:
Can't get 'MysqlSqlFacade' module.
Please:
1 Check that mysql is running on server 127.0.0.1
2 Check that mysql is running on port 3306 (note: 3306 is the default, but this can be changed)
3 Check the root has rights to connect to 127.0.0.1 from your address (mysql rights define what clients can connect to the server and from which machines)
4 Make sure you are both providing a password if needed and using the correct password for 127.0.0.1 connecting from the host address you're connecting from |
MySql is running fine many years, thanks. Pushing data to Amarok, for example.
I have tried:
- almost any conceivable USE combination (specially static-libs)
- LDFLAGS="" emerge,
- emerge -DuN,
- emerge -C, emerge --depclean, emerge again
May be the compiler? Someone using it, please, can tell what gcc versión is using? When these things happens I just wait for portage to update and these glitches dissapears. But this is failing several months already and looks like it's hitting me alone, because I can't find anything relevant on the net,
Thanks |

Same problem here, running stock x86 with CFLAGS="-march=native -O2 -pipe". Can't find any help on Google (found your post though!). |

Switching my gcc to:
i686-pc-linux-gnu-4.4.3
and doing an emerge -ev world
has made this problem go away. |
