I've made many modification on my old Apache (1 year old). Now, I've done an upgrade and some cleaning ... and my Apache won't start. Now it does, but ... I just want to know how to go with Apache tuning.
It is because the machine is really old (p3 700) and I've removed every configuration not needed (I've tested many things ... start, stop, start, stop ...). And after the upgrade, all removed configuration has come back which raise some port conflict and co.
How do you do to tune your Apache ? Must I just edit the file "httpd.conf" to include (or not) all configuration file which has just come back (modules.d) ?
And what about "vhosts.d" ? I've made a little file .. and 3 new files just come after the upgrade : 00_default_ssl_vhost.conf 00_default_vhost.conf default_vhost.include ... Must I fit my configuration in these file, or is there a way to tell emerge (or anything) to not push other configuration file ?
Like I say above, I don't know how to go on ...
