Hi.
I'm running 64bit Gentoo with 32bit support. I would like to use ncp vpn client. This client is 32bit - and I have no possibility to get 64bit version. I need to use SmartCard reader in this client. So I installed pcscd, configure it and now it is working fine. Problem is, that vpn client is not able to load 64 bit libpcsclite.so ...
So, what I need is to somehow ask emerge, to compile (also) 32bit version of pcscd with all related sw. How should I do it?
Thanks for any hint.

If you have all the lib32 packages installed it should compile as a 32-bit app and run just fine. As least in my experience that's how 32-bit apps compile and run.
The things about "64-bit" apps either it be Windows, Mac, Linux or any other "64-bit" OS you must understand that most of the time it's only the kernel itself that's 64-bit, an application must be written specifically for 64-bit in order for it to actually be 64-bit. 98% of software out there is still 32-bit either it's compiled on a 64-bit system or not, if it doesn't have 64-bit code it's not true 64-bit and thus only 32-bit. _________________ Linux. ... this doesn't change the mess with 32 bit and 64 libraries... _________________ Please stand by - The mailer daemon is busy burning your messages in hell... |
