Hello!
I'm moving from FreeBSD to DragonFly as my main desktop OS and I am not happy with the move from ports to pkgsrc.
Out of the little that is available, some things are not available for DragonFly and some things don't build.
However, I had good experience with Gentoo Prefix on OpenSolaris.
I see that Gentoo Prefix is not supported on DragonFly.
So should I use x86-linux or x86-solaris or will both of them not work? |

Neither....
IIRC DragonFly BSD is a spinoff of FreeBSD, therefore you should go with x86-freebsd. Maybe some other BSD derivative might work.
(It is not solaris, as there is not sun kernel running underneath, and is not x86-linux, as there is no linux kernel running underneath either.)
just my .02$
