Gotcha! -- Bite me Microsoft

Hey all, I'm brand new to linux and I decided to jump in head first. I heard about Gentoo and figured it was as good a place as any to start.

In the last few days , I

Code:
emerge myself

and I've managed to come up with a functional install of Gentoo! I had a bit of a problem with the network on the first reboot, but all was well after I recompiled the kernel a few times.

I've installed KDE and apache web server with ease. I'm still struggling with some concepts as I break free from my windoze mentality, but I think there's hope!

This linux stuff just might not be so bad. My first install seems to run like crap, but I've got a hunch the kernel isn't optimized.

So there it is..... if a complete noob can do it, anyone can!

BTW - I think my wife filed a missing persons report

Please don't file this at bugs.gentoo.org, consuming all your time because it is so nice is a feature, not a bug. ;)

If we ever need a slogan or a marketing angle I think we found it:

"Emerge Yourself"
